The Beaumont dress is named for a town in Cumbria, England which was built in 1296 by the Normans. It was built around a small but pretty sandstone church called St Mary's, which is still there today.
When they have weddings there, they place a small rope across the village road which is manned by the village children; the newlyweds must pay the village children, after which the wedding cars can drive through.
